Membership Request

Peace in Our Cities partner with cities and organizations around the world to significantly reduce serious violence. Cities that are safe and just for all are possible with sustained commitment. Many solutions and approaches to significantly reduce severe violence already exist and can be shared. Driven by the belief that cities are best positioned to understand their own needs, PiOC exists to support members in accessing the knowledge, resources, and peers they need to achieve their goals.

The network works toward this by:

1. Pairing local political will and leadership with evidence and engaged civil society.
2. Strengthening partnerships, peer-to-peer exchanges among city leaders and civil society, and interaction across silos through a global city-to-city platform.
3. Mobilizing political urgency, support, and resourcing to facilitate PiOC member cities’ efforts to significantly reduce all forms of urban violence.

PiOC members demonstrate that progress is possible through community-centered, evidence-informed practice that engages both civil society and city leadership.
