Our Work

The strategy “Safe, Just, and Peaceful Guadalajara” is aimed at implementing programs and activities to protect the lives and integrity of those who live in and visit the city. We aim to promote peaceful coexistence and the preservation of property, from a prevention, attention, and enforcement approach, ensuring citizen participation, respect for human rights, a culture of peace, and substantive equality between women and men. This strategy has a co-responsibility approach among social prevention institutions: culture, sports, health, and social programs; police proximity; civic justice; and organized civil society. We strive for a “City of Care”, which prevents violence, reduces crime and protects and empowers its citizens.

Challenges Facing
Guadalajara

The main challenges facing Guadalajara are not only limited to reducing crime rates but also include promoting peaceful coexistence and a culture of legality in communities, specifically in schools, with diagnostic and intervention projects, as well as interventions in public spaces, effective waste collection, urban improvement, and lighting to increase the perception of security.
